WEDDING STATIONERY
We are happy to be part of Kate and Jaymees’s big day. As we all now save the dates and wedding invitations are the best way to your wedding style. The couple selected silver laser cut wedding invitations in the style of snowflake. The invitation itself is unique and perfectly complemented their winter theme.
Jaymee and Kate got engaged last December in front of the lot where their new home was being built – we were fortunate enough to capture the proposal. They planned a New Year’s Eve wedding up in Cranberry, near where they live, which worked out great for their schedule since Kate is a teacher.
Kate was very relaxed about her wedding planning – her style of planning would have probably been a beach elopement! But there were a lot of family and friends who wanted to see them get married, so New Year’s Eve it was – although the weather was a bit beachy at 58 degrees in Pittsburgh in late December! Not a winter wonderland, but that temperature works out so much better for the ladies and their evening gowns.
BRIDAL DETAILS
The bridesmaids wore rose gold and the look of the evening was New Year’s Eve glam with mixed metals (gold, rose gold, silver) and black as the colors. Kate got all the bridesmaids a blush-colored faux fur. Kate herself wore a cathedral veil and she even kept her Ugg boots on hidden underneath her dress for some of her photos – you couldn’t tell and it was perfect for the soft ground since it had been raining in Pittsburgh a lot recently!
THE CEREMONY
We made a few stops around town for photos – it was quite the busy day up in Harmony for their annual Silvester New Year tradition (but we knew that going in and had our permit ready!) and then Kate and Jaymee headed to the later evening mass at their church. They had some time to relax in the church and recover from their car ride (since some members of the wedding party get a bit carsick!) Many New Year’s Eve weddings have mass at about 2 pm, but theirs was at 5:30 pm – which avoided a long gap for their guests and also avoided eating too late.
THE RECEPTION
After church and some photos in the church, we headed to the Doubletree for the reception. I loved Kate and Jaymee’s centerpieces – different decorative clocks and manzanita branches. They had a ton of fun at their reception (it was so nice to see them relaxing and big genuine smiles after all the events of the day were over and it was time to just enjoy!) and of course, there was a big balloon drop and fun party hats at midnight! And a kiss between our newlyweds!
